Help design atheist condoms at UCL!
University College London’s godless students have a new project. (You might remember them from such scandals as this.) At their freshers’ fair next month, where most societies give out pamphlets and pens with their details on, they’ll be distributing atheist condoms.
One of five secular slogans will go on them – some of options appear above – and the students wants atheists online to help choose which. Click the image above to visit their Facebook group, which you can join to vote for your favourite phrase.
I think this is brilliant. It shows atheist communities are sex-positive; we support you having as much or as little sex as you want, however you want, with whomever wants it too, and we don’t think you need permission from God or the Pope. We support contraception giving women control over their bodies, and advances in science that protect us from STIs. We don’t call consensual sex sinful, we celebrate it in all its forms.
Go and choose your favourite slogan, or spread the word on Twitter.

Surely even secular ethical worldviews – besides outright libertinism, anyway – have moral codes for sex beyond the issue of consent? If I was in a relationship and having it off with someone or, heck, several people on the sly, for example, I’m sure most atheists would think I was a scumbag.
Probably still better with a rubber…
bensix: i dont think that is a sex issue, more of a trust/social contract issue. If you have promised to not sleep with anyone other than your partner, then the sex isnt the issue, the breaking of the promise is the issue.
That.
is that you agreeing alex?
Yep.
